Nature/Wildlife, Landscape photography based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I have been passionate about wildlife since a visit to the Kruger Park, South Africa in 1985. At that time I was armed with a Kodak 126 Instamatic Camera. As you can imagine the wildlife were miniscule in the subsequent prints.
I moved on with a Pentax P30 SLR with a 50mm kit lens and a nondescript 70-300mm lens. The images were OK given the limitations of the set up.
From 1997 to 2012 I did not touch a camera due to work and personal commitments.
In 2012 I retired and bought a Canon 550D DSLR complete with Canon 18-55mm kit and 70-300mm lenses and in 2013 journeyed once again to the Kruger Park where I restarted photographing wildlife.
Since then I have upgraded my equipment and I would like to think that I have made progress. During period 2013 to 2016 I have travelled to South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, Brazil, Hungary and Romania.
In March 2017 I had my first experience of landscape photography through a tour of Namibia. The tour was dedicated to landscape and it was an experience that I will never forget. I am a convert to the discipline and will now combine with my love of wildlife to try and become a more rounded outdoor photographer.
